The story of two people bound together, first by convenience and then by necessity. One is fighting to thrive, the other to simply survive. A deck of cards, a string of broken hearts and fresh starts. Most roses are perennials, returning year after year when cared for. But when the root is torn, the flower falls back into the ground. His wife’s casket was not even buried when his ex fiancée showed up. She looked as lifeless as she always did. Her return was just temporary. She came to pay her respects to the deceased and he believed that was the end of it but then why is he forced to work with her four years later? He believed she is out of his life. He believed he would never have to see her again after he broke their engagement with her. They were never close. They were never meant to be. Then why is she back?
